I apologise for bringing it up again but can you recommend please a good network? supplier at this moment in time I'm leaving 3(three) after 6 years. I'm looking at unlimited data calls and texts thank you for your help
wow thanks for your reply I'm in stoke on trent and you are quite right about CS with a lot of Providers there a post on here about how three have decline over the years like I said I've been with them for 6 years there coverage as been horrendous just lately that I complained and they waived a months payment as compensation... so it's vodafone .. EE or O2.I think the problem with this question is that there is no definitive answer as it depends on a) where you live and b) where you travel to often.
I'd like to leave EE as frankly they're overpriced but in general, it's very rare I don't have coverage whereas O2 really struggles round here but in other areas I've known O2 have signal where EE don't so it's pot luck. Vodafone seem to be rated for the best coverage at home but their CS seems to suck and I don't know what they're like around the rest of the UK.
So would you recommend a rolling contract or monthly?I've moved to Lebara recently and been pretty happy so far. They are on Vodafone network. They offer 30 day rolling contracts so you're not tied down long term if you don't want to be.
WiFi calling is supported too.
To be honest with you no.. and I don't do a lot of texting, but I do a lot calling.I would also say Lebara is a good shout. Rolling is slightly more expensive but means you aren't locked in.
Do you really need unlimited data?
yes I have the uSwitch app which one is it please and I'll have a lookI've always been monthly up till now but even on SIM only I was tied down to something like 18 months.
I can see the benefits of a 30 day rolling contracts as you can join and leave as and when required but as another poster said there is a slight price difference. Perhaps more networks should offer it.
The tariff I'm on was a uSwitch special. 15gb data unlimited calls and texts with EU roaming for £2.78 for 3 months then £6.95 after that. Just checked and it's still available if it's of any interest.
I'm pretty much on WiFi wherever I am so 15gb more than enough for my needs.
Yes you are right I don't need unlimited especially data and like I say I don't do a lot of texting it's mainly callingYou need to work out how much monthly data you need because it doesn't sound like you need unlimited.
thank you I'll have a look at them!EE is generally the best, especially in remote rural areas as they provide the emergency services network, and as I'm in the mountains a lot, it's very valuable to me.
Although my I have a BT contract at the moment which is fairly cheap. Their sim only prices are pretty ridiculous.
wow I really appreciate your replies absolutely fantastic because I am not that knowledgeable I'm going to look into that where I live there's a shopping centre and all the big four are in there I've been with 3 for 6 years now and I have just had enough of themIf you go anywhere rural, it's 100% EE. Whilst doing trips into the highlands, I will consistently be the last person with 4G signal.
I don't recommended actually signing a contract with any of the big four (3, o2, voda, EE) as there simply isn't any point. They're more expensive and often lacking features and you're locked into a contract.
For EE, go with 1p or spusu. Avoid lyca for their terrible support, handling of a massive data breach and lack of all the EE signal bands.
If you don't want to pay the premium for the EE network then lebara on vodafone gets my vote. Fairly sure they have a deal for a 12GB sim for £1 a month for 6 months, £7 after.
I will visit the stores tomorrow and provide you with an update on the contract I select and the provider I choose.
Sorry but not that technical minded so how much is 10gb? .. I'm on 30gb with 3 and I have never run out of data I have been in the EE shop today and they said £10 if I take there boardband so in total £32 and that's 12 months if I want rolling monthly it's £45 WTF?I recommend calling them up if you're ever forced to move to EE. Their online deals were useless, but on phone they offered a much better SIM only package for me when I was moving between the two (£10 for 10gb, with a £1 discount for being a BT broadband customer, so £9 overall).
That said some of the MVNOs will still be better for the money if you don't mind looking around.
thank you I'll have a look on the app but I'm not sure if I will understand it and also we're to lookIf you have the 3 app on your phone, it should tell you how much you use per month. Everyone's usage varies so I can't say if it will be more than enough, or too small for you.
is this what you meanYep, totally depends what you do with your phone or what you think you might want to do.
Another option would be to check mobile network usage stats on the phone itself. If you have an iPhone, should be under Settings>Mobile Service and listed there. Or if on Android such as Samsung goto Settings>Connections>Data Usage.
Best trying to average out the last few months to figure out how much you are using.
thanks mateYep, you should be able to tap where it shows "1-31 Mar" and go back in time to show previous monthly usage on mobile data.
Great ... I just been talking to an agent at EE! I have asked him a load of questions and he says you are looking at £39 a month with broadband at 18 months and my phone sim on a rolling monthly contract what do you think of that? .. thank youExtrapolating out, probably about 2GB a month. But give the price difference between 3GB and 5GB is 50p, go for 5GB in case you have a month where you need more.
Don't bother talking to any of the paid thieves in phone shops, use the link below.

Thank you very much for your input I really appreciate it but I've do a bit of research on lebara it's is not a provider as such ie it's on the back of the Vodafone am I rightMy gut reaction is no, not a good deal. Do you need broadband? Are you out of contract with your current provider?
I'd stick with the lebara deals linked above.
I thought Lebara was Vodafone so voxi are as wellThis all depends where you live? i avoid 02 and Three.
I've been with Voxi (Vodafone) for years and had no issues.
