Best (NTFS) Data Recovery Live CD?

My brothers hard disk has died, along with a shed load of valuable work for his Masters - what's the 'hot' LiveCD to use for data recovery nowadays?

i always ubuntu as it just works.

failing that try knoppix.

Indeed, he deserves to lose it to teach him a lesson. Sadly I'm not that cruel

Downloading Systemrescuecd now, and installing Windows Home Server to get both my brother and my dad backing up

Already use FreeNAS (commented in your other thread

) - unfortunately it doesn't integrate with Vista in the same way Home Server does.

Don't worry tho, I still use it
