Hi all well I am now looking in to getting a gaming laptop since my situation has changed at home as changed. I'm moving around a lot more and cant take my big gaming rig about :( so... I've been looking at some laptops for under or very close to £1000, I've got a short list of the following,

MSI GX600
Asus G1s
Alienware m9750 (stock with the extra wireless card)

and then theres Zepto, now I don't know anything about this company really, but it seems quite good prices, I can get the following

120GB 7200rpm SATA Harddisk Samsung®
Keyboard Znote 2x25 Black UK
15,4" WXGA 1280x800 - 3415W
12 months pick up & return
6 Cell Battery for Znote 2225W/2425W
NVIDIA® Geforce 8600M GT
Built in Bluetooth
Online discount UK 8
2.20 GHz Intel® Core™2 Duo T7500 800MHz
2GB (2x1024) DDR2 800/PC6400 SODIMM
Toshiba HD-DVD 6xxx/3xxx
Microsoft® Windows® Vista Home Premium - UK
Intel® Turbo Memory 1GB
Zepto Zpro 300Mbit Wifi Card (ABGN)

All for 998.45, is that good or bad I just dont know.
Anyways awaiting your opinions and advice thanks

Oh ok just check out the dells I hadnt seen these before, so for the following spec

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7500
Windows Vista® Business
17.0" UltraSharp™ Wide Screen WUXGA (1900x1200) TFT Display with TrueLife™
3072MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (1x1024 + 1x2048 MB)
160GB (5400RPM) SATA Hard Drive
256MB nVidia® GeForce® 8600M GT
Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Drive including Software
9-cell Lithium-Ion Battery
Nylon X-Large Carrycase
Dell™ Wireless 355 Bluetooth 2.0 Module
Intel® Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-Card - Europe

All for 839, so is this a decent gaming spec for a laptop for the price? I actually don't have much experience with laptops and I have been out of the spec'ing eye since last christmas so im not sure on what goes tbh.

That zepto spec can be had for much less money. Have a look at the Dell vostro range if you are looking at that kind of spec.

i'm not sure mate but i think you missed the HD-DVD drive on the zepto? i havent came across any laptops from dell with hd-dvd drives myself.

Well did a few changes to the spec of the machine now, but would the T7250 be capable enough for the task of gaming as in is it really worth upgrading to the t7500?

Spec as follows..
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7250
Genuine Windows Vista® Business
Base Warranty - 1 Year Business Hardware Support
15.4" Wide Screen WXGA+ (1440 x 900) Display with TrueLife™
3072MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
160GB (5400RPM) SATA Hard Drive
256MB nVidia® GeForce® 8600M GT
Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Drive
Primary 9-cell Lithium-Ion Battery
DICOTA BACKPACK
Dell™ Wireless 355 Bluetooth 2.0 Module
Intel® Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-Card

and thats £820 delivered, so seems quite substantial, thoughts?
