Can anyone recommend a decent PSU calc?

I've come across this one
http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine

but it seems to suggest too much..

For example, it suggests a 925W PSU for a quad core GHz C2D, 2 sticks of DDR2, 2 SATA HDD, 3 x 120mm LED fans, 1 DVD/RW drive, deskyop Mobo and a soundblaster, a 8800 GTX (no OCing)??

Thought I'd get awy with a 650W

What do you think..

I tried this one a while ago, and like you, it gave me a rather high value (over 900w) for a C2D system, the one in the 2nd link gives a far more realistic value I think.

EDIT:

Came across This one some time ago. O:)

Extreme Outervision used to seem ok (it was 3 years ago when I built this PC) but that recommendation is way over the top. I have to admit though I generally just work it out roughly in my head and then if I'm still unsure I might check a PSU calculator.

I don't know how you got 925W, because it says 366W when I do that.

Try this one.

You dont need an Asus board either.

I got reccomended min of 400w for:

Pentium D 930 3.0Ghz @ 3.6Ghz so put the 960 in instead.
P5N-E SLI
4x 512 533@640
1 Sata
2 DVD RW
7900GS
2x 120mm Fans
2x80mm Fans

I do have a cheap ezcool 550w psu ( probably around 400w ) and cant wait to get my Hiper 580w Modular for my birthday :)

Read the instructions at the bottom of the page on the calculator you'll get it right then. ;)
