Tribes 2 went off like a silent fart. Why is such a fun game so under rated.
 
The Quake series, as you can tell by my sig :)

Pure reflexes, anticipation and accuracy required. There's nowhere to hide in Quake - if you haven't got the skills it will show quickly. At that point you'll start crying "bot" and "hack" and storm off back to BF2 where your lack of ability will go largely unnoticed :D

Seriously, it mostly depends on which community suites you best. I always loved the Quake "scene" (especially Wireplay) because the players seemed generally older and more relaxed. As good as CS is, I never got into it because I always found the servers to be like a junior school playground and it put me off. CS is great, BF is great, UT is great......whichever lights your fire.
 
for me it's cs 1.6 i just love it! and as much as i rage about hackers and foreign kids that use ingame to talk as opposed to vent or ts2 (i found voice_enable 0 did the trick ;)) i can't get away from the game, i love the challenge involved in it, i wouldn't say it's a purely fast paced game as it can be controlled by either team! and playing matches is excellent

** on a side note i want cs-pro to be released, this is going to be something sexual **

just about to say that too :D

The best thing about it is the titan mode as you can spawn in a place where you know you can't get shot straight away so it keeps the spawn campers away to an extent. It's not perfect, but it's getting better with every patch.
 
I've been playing farcry online practicly everyday for the last 2 years :o , there not that many people online these days but there a few good clans that let you play on thier server's and some cool map packs free to download,

I doubt it but just out of intrest anybody on here a regular on farcry online, if so whats your tag

I've just recently installed this again, and oh how I've missed it :D

Other than that, Battlefield 2 is brilliant aswell.

QuakeWorld just celebrated its 10th birthday on Sunday 17th December marking the anniversary of the release of the first QW client.
The first version of qwsv, the dedicated server, was released 4 days earlier.

And for sheer pace of gameplay, theres nothing else which comes near it, in default form anyway, even 10 years on.
quake.xs4all.nl is still seems to be packed with players any time you take a look. :D

Found This on google video recently. Nice to see people still creating and distributing stuff like that for the game.

Warsow is great fun too. Makes for excellent duels. Like a mix of QW and Q3, but with the additition of wall jumping and heavily stylised visuals.
Wasn't so keen on the first few versions, but the last couple have seen it develop into a cracking high-skill fps.
