Time for discussion about best open source software.
Round 1 - Inventory Software.
By far the best one I have come across is http://www.ocsinventory-ng.org/en/
I have implemented this in a work place and it easily handled the inventory of 1200 computers.
The inventory agent was packaged and then deployed by active directory. The central server ran on a virtual Linux server on vmware.
Nice and fairly simple to enjoy....Any one got any other suggestions...
