Best operating system for Hp microserver file share and media

I want to be able to share media files and connect by ps3 ...xbox 360...run programs if there are any so the ipad/iphone can connect to and galaxy tablets for the media streaming.....ive heard there are freenas/windows server 2008/windows 7/windows xp or linux based... or should i just play about with it to see what suits my needs more...thanks.

is it better to use 32 or 64 bit version...or i suppose that depends on the amount of memory you use?

ok gonna try open media vault see what its like...only before i decide what proper one to get or purchase...

ok got windows 7 installed...seems to run slow so think ill get some extra memory so its not wanting....and a ssd drive for booting to ....cant live without ssd now lol...anyway and good programs i need to install that people can recommend to make it into a decent media server/file server thanks.
