Isn't it easier to reply from a alias than a forwarding address?
Would Gmail be the best option for email aliases as i want to sort out all my digital clutter and put rarely used accounts on a alias.
Not sure if this fits your requirements, but you can add "+keyword" to your email address and it'll still land in your inbox, for example:
Email address of myEmailHere[at]gmail.com can be myEmailHere+ocuk[at]gmail.com and it'll still land in your inbox, with that additional + word in the sent to so you can see where it comes from, so you could add a new + word for as many different "aliases" as you like.
Benefit of this is that you don't need to go into any kind of control panel and set up a new alias each time you want one. Negative is that you can't reply and have it look like it came from the + version of the email, at least not as far as I've seen.
You can then set a filter based on who it was sent to, so if you had myEmailHere+spam[at]gmail.com, you can auto filter to delete when it lands.
Caveat - this is just what I do in Gmail, not sure if other providers work in the same way. Worth a test if it might help you though![]()
This does work, but some websites can detect that and remove it.
it is happening to me.
like
" xxxx is your G00gle code"
instead of
G-xxxx is your google code
the code works but I am wondering if my phone number sms comunication has been intercepted and if someone is joking at me.
anyway according to the previous link, seems someone at google has confirmed it is a legit sms
can some other one confirm as well?
this is happening by some months to me from April to June 2019 now.
I just wanna be sure my communications are ok since I am having missing emails as well so I do not know what is happening and why all these things at the same time.
many thanks agains
Andrea
+1I use FastMail, it's not free but the masked email feature basically lets you create an email per login.
Apples hide my email option is decent if you are in apples ecosystem.
You get a <random characters>@privaterelay.appleid.com email which just forwards to whatever your email your Apple account is signed up with.Does that work with any email provider, or just iCloud emails?
Any email provider, works with my gmail as an example.Does that work with any email provider, or just iCloud emails?
