Best option for iPhone 3G in car?

I have an old Griffin iTrip i used to use with my iPod in my car, but as it's quite old i'm unsure about trying to use it with my iPhone 3G.

So my question is, what is the best method of listening to my iPhone through my car head unit, i don't mind if it isn't charging as it would only be for a couple hours each day. Any suggestions?

Based on their website, no... But you could always just plug it in and find out - I can't imagine it doing much harm. And through Googling it appears that some people have found that it works on theirs.

does the itrip work with youtube aswell? so i can listen to youtube videos (not watching!) via my car cd speakers?

I use an alpine headunit that i used with my ipod video with mine and it works alright, does some strange stuff when i get calls though, and occasionally causes a error on the headunit but i dont know if the iphone is to blame or not with that.

I used to use an iTrip with my iPod but the quality irritated me so if you have the money I'd go for a nice headunit. Bought myself a Pioneer DEH-P6000UB few months ago and haven't looked back, its going to stay with me for at least 10 years!

I considered an iTrip, but thought the quality would bug me. Think I'll get a stereo that does the business when I can justify it.
