best option for my system ?

what would be the best gfx card for around £250ish (system specs in sig) , not sure if to get the 7970 or the R9 280 X .
running a zotac gtx670 atm but my mobo does not seem to like it that much lol , purchased it a week before the gtx 770 came out (which I did not know about with being very ill etc)

While a 7970/280X will be faster I wouldn't bother moving to be honest as it won't be much of an improvement.

not sure why but at times it seems to stop in 2d mode when gaming where my 6970 runs fine , could be a bios thing but my mobo has the latest bios but my mobo is getting long in the tooth so to speak .

sometimes it does not run at pcie-2 speeds but at 1.1 even when gaming

also waiting to see what the R9 290 (non X) runs like as I would like a card that will last a while
