What is in your experience the best mobile OS for heavy email use and why.

I currently use a wildfire/android and because of the resolution it makes emails a pain to use.

It will be for work where we use MS Exchange.

WebOS is good for email...
and can you explain what you mean by 'heavy email use ' ?
just loads of emails? emails with HTML ? only txt ?

Blackberry is very strong for corporate email where high security is required.

If the OP simply means which OS/phone has the best user interface for email then I'd say it's not quite so clear cut.

Honeycomb is nice for Email :) But you obviously need a tablet for that, for phones i'd say Blackberry/Android/iOS...so basically all of the front-runners in the Mobile market :p

I love my Blackberry for work e-mail, but it's not as good as iOS and Android when it comes with a lot of attachments. Maybe the upcoming Blackberry Bold 9900 will fix that.

The blackberry 8520 is painfully slow with attachments/images but alas it aint 3g :s

Windows Phone 7.

Outlook on it is so useful and works a wonder for me.

This.

And...

the new update will be getting ...email threading in Outlook, meaning emails will read as conversations for Exchange emails rather than just individual messages. The update will also allow users to search the Exchange server for emails that are no longer hosted on the phone but are up in the cloud. Pinnable email folders to the start screen will also come as part of the update.

You'll also be able to create custom combined pinned email folders.

Have you tried K-9 Mail? It should work very well and is popular. An easier step than just buying a new phone too. I'd give it a try before moving to a whole new platform/device.

But the OP is using an android phone for whcih k9 mail is available and works well !

True, i just use the Gmail app :) Works better, and if i read and email through it on my phone, its changed to "read" on my main gmail :) also deleting emails through gmail works, where i dont think it does on k9mail.

So K9 + Android is good? I have to change phone anyway because the wildfire has poor resolution for emails. Work will be providing the phone for free so I'm learning towards a desire or a htc windows mobile phone.

One of the higher spec Android phones. I've gone from a Galaxy S to a Galaxy S2. Both are great for emails. Colleagues have a mixture of MP7, iPhone 4 and BB 9700.

Not using the stock email client however, using Touchdown, nothing else compares.

Then when you take into account the rest of the phone features, it's absolutely excellent.!
