i have just got my E6300 upto 3.2GHz with some cheap crucial PC-5300 RAM taking it upto 920MHz, i was just wondering what clocks people are getting with there value RAM as 920MHz on value PC-5300 seems to be a very good clock

2.1v on RAM with the Akasa copper heatspreader and my ACF7 fan sucking air over it, and 1.45v on my CPU. i havent yet run orthos but will do overnight so it runs for 8 hrs

I had some spectacularly good old Patriot PC5300 DDR2 RAM that would do 900MHz and it was using Micron RAM chips.

As Crucial are getting a name for everything being as good as the best, this would certainly indicate there might not be a huge difference between their value RAM and the Ballistix.

Was this RAM bought recently? Is it the £60 stuff?

my personal best (tho this starts to show my age)

a 128mb infinion stick pf pc100 cas3, running 150mhz 2-2-2
or
256mb crucial pc133 cas 2 at 166 2-2-2

also built a pc recently which had 512mb pc2100 + 512mb pc2700 crucial (value) sticks that were at 205 2-3-3 last time i seen it
