I'm looking for a quad core under £300-ish, and i have an EVGA 680i SLI board (A1 version)
What kind of speed should i be able to get to with - for instance - a Q6600? I'm on watercooling btw.

I remember some 680i boards used to have problems overclocking quads.... has that been fixed? In the latest P30 BIOS for my board it has improved overclocking listed for kentsfield's...

Also what are the new dual core E6850's getting to?

The board should surely do at least 333 x 9 = 3Ghz and presumably more
Yes a lot of early boards struggled to get much over 300 FSB with quad cores, but I believe that with the board revision you have it is much improved. Do a search on some other forums too, the answer is out there...
