BEST overclocking CPU out there?

Performance wise you'd be best to go for a E6300 as stated above. One of those at 3.2 or 3.3 that has been achieved easily enough on air would beat the pants off any other cpu that's not a C2D.

thats nothing to do with the thread at all.

The northwoods were good yea.

what about the P4 northwoods, they are a bit dated but arent they like overclocking legends?

i wouldnt be suprised if the 1.6 and 1.8a were the legendary ones, as they have hit 3ghz before.

i had a 2.8c northwood but it would only clock to 3.8 max on air. (3.65 stable) iirc.

My P4 3ghz (775) sits at 3.75 atm just waiting for my c2d to do some bad boy overclocks lol..

dothans are great for ocing and are the best single core chip ever made

mine is 95% oced
M celeron's

mine only did 60%oc but it was very fast at the time.

i have a soft spot for northwoods, both of mine do 1ghz overclocks on air (2.4c & 2.8c)...

i would have to include opteron 144's in too, some of them do ghz+ overclocks on air

Yeah, my 805D is my only 4GHz CPU :p .

The E4400 or whatever the Conroe light is called could be an amazing clocker if Intel get round to release it.

Jokester
