Best paint type for iPod case?

Hello all

I recently got an incase slider for my iPod. I thought it was going to be red but after getting it in the post its more of a pink colour.

I hate the colour but I love the case. Now I am a pretty good artist and I want to paint the incase slider cover (I haven't decided if I'm going to do a design or keep it plain). I want a tough paint type that wont damage easily as this iPod/case will be going on my daily running route with me. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also should I use lacquer after painting to help protect the paint?

Primer > auto paint > clearcoat

You'll need a few thin coats of each

Thanks for the help big. I was thinking autopaint or acrylic. Autopaint is probably tougher.

As for buying the colour I want...obviously I could do that, but this has given me a chance to be a bit creative and make a custom case for my iPod.
