I still need some minutes and texts but I need a fair bit of data due to the amount of streaming I do over spotify and other apps.

I've just finished my contract with 3 and I plan on never going back on a contract. £33 a month is just too much and I didn't use anywhere near the minutes and texts and unlimited internet I was using.

3? :P
the 123 payg

Otherwise I would go sim only contract with 30 days rolling. the £12.9/m with 200min/unlimited data. If you don't get on with 3 maybe Virgin mobile floats your boat with unlimited everything 30 days rolling at £15/m no 4G like 3 though.

20 quid on Giff Gaff gets you unlimited everything. There are lesser Tariffs for Peasants.

Yeah the signal I get up here with 3 is pretty naff to be honest and I don't see us getting 4G anytime soon, heck we've only just started getting fiber.

The £12 gives you unlimited data, however GG has been having problems with 3g Speeds in recent months.. I rarely get more than 0.5mb during the day.. They are trying to resolve problem, but I suspect now that 4G is up and running the focus will be on that. Atleast the 4G speed should reach "proper" 3G speeds, if you know what I mean. :)

123 Payg from 3.

150mb free each time you top up by £5. A penny a megabyte thereafter. Should you really want to use a lot you gan get an add in for £15 that gives 300 mins, 3000 texts and unlimited data (no tethering) to use in a month.

I've no complaints about reception. Data speeds have mostly been good in Sheffield (far quicker than I was getting on T-Mobile) and if there's no 3 signal, it roams onto Orange / EE 2G.

Check to see what you are actually using per month, rather than getting into the "I need unlimited" bracket and paying more than you need to.

I switched to 3 recently, been on Vodafone for years, and their speeds are brilliant around my area, Vodafone could never match them. But it's probably worth testing a few free sims from other providers to check what's best for you.

123 on 3 is brilliant as well. Top up £5 a month and you'll get 150mb data free and then 500mb worth of data with the £5 too.

I just signed up to the peoples operator. They use the EE network and at the end of April they had a cracking deal. Unlimited minutes, texts and 3GB of data on a 30 day rolling contract. £14.99 for the first month (but you get £15 quidco for signing up with them, so first month free) then the next 4 months are half price at £7.50 a month! They donate some of what you paying to charity as well.

Signal is brilliant because it is basically like you are with EE.

Im not sure whether they have a similar deal going on now though but they are worth a look. Customer service has been good so far as well.

3 payg £15 p/m unlimited data, thousands of texts and a few hundred minutes is the best payg data I know as it has 4g and decent speeds compared to similar options from other companies.

I top up my 3 payg with 15 per month and get the unlimited addon

Tethering works fine too
