Hi all :)

What is the best PAYG SIM card available for Internet access?

Could anyone please explain how O2's Web Bolt On works with their PAYG SIM cards? Do you use the top up credit to buy the bolt on? :o

Thanks!

Hi, the o2 bolt on works just by texting WEB to a number then they give you *unlimited access to the internet for £7.50, they text you 24 or 48 hours before the payment is due so you can top up enough for when they take it. If you're not using it anymore you can text WEB OFF to the same number and it's cancelled. No strings apparently, I'll be using it at some point so had a read up about it on their website.

I use O2. I pay £15 a month on PAYG to get unlimited calls and texts to O2 numbers, then I added the web bolt on for £7.50 (which just comes out of the £15 I pay)

The best deal around for data access and general use in my opinion.

If most of your mates are on o2 then its a no brainer really and the web bolt on is the icing on the cake. :)

I have Ditched O2 after about 5 years in favour of T-Mobile.

O2's WAP is absolute crap, 200MB Limit and if you want to use it with a laptop etc it simply will not do anything than HTTP/Web requests in a browser due to their stupidly restrictive proxy.

T-Mobile offers full mobile net access, unlimited usage for max of £1 per day. Or you can get a 5 day pass for £2.50.

Thanks for the replies :)

I don't think I'll be using my laptop with O2's web bolt on and does T-Mobile have any kind of limit for anything including laptop usage?

I believe T Mobile restrict VOIP on everything but there most expensive WnW package.

I *think* in an earlier thread someone stated he used MSN on O2.....

I can't say for certain as it is not a function I have use for on my mobile. I use it for general forum browsing, email (gmail), "that bidding site" etc. etc.

Depends what VOIP you are reffering to. I have even managed to play World of Warcraft via my 3G enabled phone using the T-mobile WNW service on my PAYG sim, albeit a little laggy due to latency. Teamspeak and Ventrilo both worked fine.

Highly reccomended IMO. T'mobiles services and pricing is just a breath of fresh air from O2, and their customer service is excellent too. I emailed prior to switching and was emailed in detail personally by a Sales/Support member rather than a generic canned response.
