So i have been doing YouTube for nearly 4 Years, I have had 2 YouTube Channel, one got to 15,000 Subscribers and 3 million Views but then i started fresh on a new channel around 2 months ago that is now at 2000 Subscribers.
I do record console gameplay but also do a lot of PC games which is why i upgraded my PC just before Christmas so i can play PC games smoother.

I have always used Fraps to record gameplay from years ago and now i have never looked around if there is any more user friendly and easier/better software out there that does a better job than fraps (as it can be stressful to use)

So can you guys help me in the right direction of any good high quality and easy to use screen capture or PC game recorder software for me to download. It can be Free or i am prepared to spend some money as well. Is there any that let you record the game and a face cam at the same time to save stressful manual syncing?

Thanks :)

I have used Nvidias free recording that comes with Geforce Experience. You can set it to constantly record x amount of time or manually record as long as you want.

You can set resolution, quality, fps etc...

It also seems quite well compressed so files aren't huge. It's worth a try for free.

DXTory the best by far.

Quality is epic, download the Lagarith Lossless Codec also as the quality of compression is ace. You can record a 20gb file and compress to about 1gb with very little visual difference. So many options inside the program, you can split the audio tracks up as well so when it comes to editing, you can have all separate audio tracks making volume control, what you want to hear so much easier and tunable. And you only lose a few frames during recording which is proper nice.

If you have an nvidia graphics card, shadowplay is easy to use, built into the driver.

Think amd has an equivalent otherwise open broadcaster software is both free and relatively easy to use.

I've used action and obs is better.

Does this split the game volume to external microphone audio input as well then?

Does DXtory have a dvr like function to record the last 30 seconds or so?

Sorry for hijack OP.

You know the Action software, there is a Home and Commercial version, ive read commercial is for monetized uploads like mine. But does anyone know how they can tell if you are using the Home or Commercial version in the videos?

that's the only thing it doesn't have....but like everything else out there, there's always something that is missing. If shadowplay was able to separate the audio like DXtory, it would be Boss end of. That's the only reason I don't record my footage, I'd rather have my audio separate but I really cant be recording 20 minute games then editing that all. The raw footage would be over 100gb for a 20 minute record using DXTory lol

hehe in fraps if i record 4k youd cry at size. thing is its better overall. 40 secs = 4gb

if you after the best you use fraps or dxtory.

shadowplay would be next for casual recording. its simple and does a pretty decent job.

As people have mentioned, shadowplay is by far one of the best out there (providing you have an NVIDIA card). I've used shadowplay a lot for my own videos and it's probably the best option over downloading any other software.

That's a shame :(. It's the same problem everywhere no one thing does everything you could need :(.

I'll stick with raptr for now. Thanks :).
