For sheer jaw dropability at the time, it would have to be -

Rocket Ranger - Wow, Cinemaware meets monty python like tour de force.

Shadow of the Beast 1 & 2 - Made me feel happy about the £400 I lashed out on the A500 and made my C64 owning mates dribble helplessly.

Mechwarrior 2 - I was crap at the game, but just watching the intro used to fire me up to have a go and get better.

I guess they would all look laughably bad today, but they were the cutting edge at the time.

If we are going back further than PC I would say Another World - perfectly set up the game.

On PC I reckon That the X Wing or Tie Fighter games were cool - proper Star Wars on the computer!

the bf2:sp one is my current favourite

wow was cool but then i realise the infernal is complete **** and my warlock hasn't used a pet other than his imp since i hit lvl60

of course the dawn of war intro is totally amazing... a 40k film would be out of this world

Monkey Island 3 was pretty good.

The best intro IMO is Mafia, superb music, opening then seamless(ish) transistion into the game proper.

I loved the Full Throttle intro. There was just something about it that oozed coolness. And the first time I saw the WoW intro, well, I was just blown away as 4 years of eagre anticipation reached it's peak. That intro was awesome.

I also thought the Red Alert intro was good. Nice music to go with it, nice story in the beginning, set the entire game up nicely

aaaaah just remember the intro to monkey island 3 makes me want to play it again !
