Best PC Headpones - For Gaming and Music

Ideally with a mic, I have been looking at the Sennheiser PC 350 gaming headset.

Are there any others that are very good for music and gaming.

Also I have gathered that the 5.1 headsets are a gimmick, and that a proper pair of stero headphones are better?

Please can you advise.

Well I was prepared to spend the £120 odd for the Sennheisers, so I guess £120 lol, although I may stretch if they're amazing .

It's just that a certain forum page put me off them .... I'll see if I can find it.

@ Hxc - I would prefer to get a headset with a mic, if I am going to get a mic at all. Off to have a look at what you suggested

At the above, do you use them for gaming, just if I'm going to spend a lot - I want to make sure they are worth it.

Cheers for the all the replies, and @ Mansize_tissue I also own the Z5500 , and they are ok for gaming.

Will see if anyone else posts their preferences, before I decide.

Keep suggesting guys!, will be deciding this weekend, I'm leaning towards the HD595s, as if they aren't right; I'll be able to fob then off to my dad .

Avoid, purchased a set and soon sent them back, sound positioning for gaming sounded slightly off. Imitation leather ear padding is very uncomfortable during prolonged use, on a positive the note the build quality + mic standard is very decent imo.

For what they cost you can do a lot better, such as the 595's which i now own, find them much better for gaming, very good for music and movies. Still required a mic set though, so decided to purchase 161's aswell.

being 'open' anyone else in the room will be annoyed if you're playing games

That wouldn't be a problem. Looks like I'll be spending spending about £80max now, just bought GH3 for the PC
