Obviously don't mention any competitors or link to them, but i was wondering if anyone could suggest some models of pen tablets to look out for.

I don't want anything amazingly fancy, i use a A5 wacom at college, is this the best option to go for, or is there better value for money? And also what kind of price am i looking for for A5 and A4?

Cheers.

what are the A5 wacoms like, been looking at getting one but not sure if A4 would be better

A bit confusing at first to use because your working on a larger piece of work yet you have a smaller physical space to work in, but you can get used to it, i personally would prefer A4.

i've tried a couple in the past ( Both A.4 ) .

You either " love 'em or hate 'em ". :p

If you're unsure just go for a cheapy to see how you get on.

I can draw (left handed) pencil perfectly but just could not get used to the chunky feel of a tablet pen ( probably just me )

Wacoms are the best.

Cheers,

Mark

i have a wacom graphire4 bluetooth and it's one of the best purchases i've ever made. it's a total godsend for photoshop.

if you can afford it, get a wacom cintiq.

I have a Wacom Intuos 2 and its awesome :D

Mine is A4 in size although I think I may have been better off with an A5 one. I guess it depends mostly on what your doing in Photoshop. You do get used to the size fairly quickly, but bare in mind with the A4 you have to move your hand/arm a fair distance further especially when accessing menus and things. I dont know how good the graphire tablets are, although I would imagine they are perfectly acceptable. I would recommend getting a slightly older Intuos (1 or 2) as they can be picked up relatively cheap and still perform admirably.

I've had a Wacom Graphire since they first came out, and I'd definately recommend one. They do feel a little strange at first, but the pros far outweigh the cons - compared to using a mouse for selecting, or using a brush, they are a million times better.
I'm sure you wont regret the purchase.

The graphire are the best bet if you are on a limited budget. Not too long ago they were the dog's danglies. The oh so expensive Intuos 2 is the daddy at the moment.

Soooo tempted to get myself a Wacom tablet soon but have other stuff I need to pay for lol :p

Wacom Intuos3 A5 here. Awesome :)

EDIT: Btw, make sure you understand how much desk space these things take up. The A5 is almost A3 in terms of desk space.
