Hi guys,

Was wondering what connections you all use for your Steamlink. Is Powerline better than wireless?

I've had similar performance with both, but if there is an ideal setup I'd like to use that.

Any tips appreciated for best performance appreciated. Thanks.

I'd always go with wired vs wireless even if it is powerline.
Although mine is wired directly via ethernet (not tried powerline), I have tried wireless and found the quality tended to drop quite a bit. Not seen a hint of it while cabled.

Wired all day long.

When I stream FFXV from my PS4 to my PC, I get zero/very minimal lag via wired, I tried wireless but there was literally a second delay from button input to actual movement on the game.

Same with the Moonlight app on my Firestick, It streams my PC games from my PC to the stick, of course only wireless, very noticeable lag.

Wireless mine wasn't playable online (playing rocket league) and barely offline.

Only just put the wiring in so hopefully that will get better when I give that a try :)

Yep, same for me so I wired my whole house :)

Powerline is fine if its good powerlines, use the stats that they give to see how much lag etc its putting in, my lag went from 1 -> 7 ms from cable to powerline then to 13~ using AC wireless and up to 45 using wireless N.

Also depends on the quality of wiring in the house, not all are created equal.

On the Steam Link front I suspect they will be on sale again tomorrow eve in the Steam Xmas sale.

So be worth grabbing one from GAME on Friday at the £16 price level - bargain.
