I'm looking at the Samsung Galaxy, Iphone and HTC Desire etc. to receive email from my personal website (not gmail, yahoo, google etc.)

Do they all work as well as each other?

I've not had a phone for 5 years since I left the rat race and threw it in the bin so I'm really out of touch at the moment ...

Android does pretty faultlessly for me, not sure if there's any difference between how a galaxy S and desire email app would work, think they both use the standard one.

Having owned two Android phones and an iPhone tbh I think you'd struggle to see much difference between them. They're all good. Best to base your decision on other features/specs of the phones.

What about the Dell Streak? If it's just for emails then it's probably the best phone of the lot. :p

Only difference is that on andriod you will be able to change what email app to use. I use K9 mail find it a lot better than the stock app :)

BlackBerry no doubt if you want an emal focused handset.

Depends if he's sending them so much as purely receiving updates via email.

The blackberry will ultimately be very useful as business tool but the smaller, lower resolution screen will make the long emails a pain.

All of those phones you mentioned are purely touch input, you may want to wait until the Motorola Milestone 2 if you want to be sending emails, as that will have the same performance and rough screen size as the two android phones mentioned, with the addition of a huge qwerty keyboard :)

It is more for just receiving and sending a quick reply so there won't be any lengthy typing 90% of the time.

I'll see who does the best offer for the samsung and the HTC.
