best phone out at the minute

Id also be quiet interested in people views on this as I'm in exactly the same boat. I've been looking at the N95 but it would cost me around £130 to upgrade on my contract which I don't like the sound of, and i dunno, I'm just not a big fan of Nokia lol.

I'm trying to get an N95 out of Orange at the moment, but they haven't had any stock for something like two weeks now. Getting quite annoyed considering everywhere else has them in stock, and they're a massive company. Still, they're offering me a hell of a deal so I guess I can wait :)

about to get a new contract at e2save.. currently have a k800i but im bored of it now.

im guessing n95 is the best currently

N95 are plagued with problems at the moment.

I currently have a k800i and work in the mobile industry, and after sampling a SE w880i, samsung u600, LG prada, nokia n95 and a nokia e65 for a few days each.

My final decision.........

stick with the k800i. None of the phones just felt as good, in looks, build quality, usability anything. Nothing touched the k800i in my opinion, even after me having it for a year.

There was one phone though, the nokia e65. its gorgeus in the flesh, pictures make it look crappy. The only reason i didnt swap to this, was because it didnt have a2dp support which was a requirement for me.

I tried out the K800i for a bit and to be honest I didnt find it as good as the Nokia 6233. Sure its got a much better camera and mp3 player ( however the 6233 video is some leagues ahead), It basicly was not as good a phone to use - I found myself fustrated trying to do simple things that I can do with nokia 6233 that would take an extra few menu's to do on the Sony. I also own a K750i and impressed as I am with it - I always grab for the nokia every time.

The deal was 1500xnet anytime mins, plus unlimited free texts, a free N95, plus a magic number, for £30 p/m.

I've been asking them for weeks now when they're going to have some in stock and I'm always told they're totally out of stock. At one point they said out of stock, yet the website had them taking orders for a further 3 days. I'm getting frustrated by it, the only reason I'm holding out is because of the deal they're offering, but if I don't get one this week, I'll be moving to O2 who offered me another great deal (600xnet anytime mins, 500txts, 2200xnet anytime mins on weekends, plus 2 free N95s) and they had them in stock.

How the hell do you get those deals :P

I've spent hundreds with O2 per month and they didn't offer me anything like that. (actually they offered me exactly that, but only 1 N95)

EDIT - orange offered me 600xnet anytime mins, unlimited free texts, a free N95, plus a magic number, for £35 p/m and some data thrown in plus £100 credit.

Atari what sort of monthly spend do you have to get that sort of deal out of Orange? And how did you convince O2 to give you the other deal? :)

for me..

W880

super slim, good battery life, fast

i have this camera (below) so never care about mobile camera's, they tend to get pretty trashed after a few months anyway

I'm honestly not sure, I wasn't expecting anything like that when I called, I just wanted to see what Orange were offering as they recently made me an Orange Premier customer for free, and hence the customer service was spot on (they answer within three rings so I don't have to sit around waiting for 10 mins +). I called again earlier on today and they asked again what offer I had been made the other day, told them again and they offered exactly the same. Try giving them a call and mentioning the same deal, they might just do it.

ATM, I'm on one of the old plans, so I'm paying £25 p/m for a lame 200mins and 100texts. My monthly spend is usually in excess of £70p/m.

The two N95 deal was with with an O2 store here in Birmingham. Mentioned I was upgrading from Orange and that I wanted to spend no more than £35 p/m. The guy who was serving me mentioned I could have the 600mins, 500 texts, plus the weekend mins, but the N95 wouldn't be free. I looked a bit hesitant I think, so he mentioned I could have the N95 for free if I took out the insurance (£7.50) and he recommended that I cancel it after one month.
I said I'd think about it and walked out of the store, I went to JD sports further down the road, and on the way back up, I passed the O2 store again, and the guy who was serving me was outside having a cigarette, he called me over and said "I've just had a thought, if you definately want the deal, I'll throw in another N95 for free which you can use with the contract as well" so I could give the phone to someone else and share the mins/texts. Apparently it was a special offer starting the next day so I was told to come in then and speak to him about it.

If that O2 store were doing it, I'm sure the others might be able to match it. Again, it's worth asking.

Still undecided which to take, although I like Orange and the customer service has been great since I joined Premier, I would like to get the phone sometime soon as my current phone is on it's way out.

Think I might have to see what my local O2 store can offer me then :)

The Motorola RIZR Z8 also comes with stereo bluetooth headphones and The Bourne Identity on a memory card. Bargain. ;)

camera on the N95 doesnt seem to be all its cracked up to be.
i was using my brothers n95... its VERY hard to take a picture without it blurring.
it has to be absolutly STILL, even pressing the damned button is is enough to nudge the camera sothat it ruins the picture.

lots of things are good on paper...

I'm guessing the ladies would find the iPhone the most attractive? Could be worth holding out for that.
