Best place for drain

Will be adding a drain port to my loop and wonder where is best place
I can use the pump res outlet with t splitter which is in rear compartment of case and not seen or add on to one of my rads which is at base of the case in the front

Mine is on a t connected to pump in, not quite the lowest point the loop but close enough.

would it not make more sense to have it on the pump out rather than in or doesnt it matter that much- I've currently got a y splitter into pump in by mistake- old fittings and tubing which I want/need to replace

Lowest point is always ideal as it will let you drain everything easily. Mine currently is on a t splitter on the bottom radiator.

You could do what your doing then put a drainport on the bottom of your case with a hose coming from your drain valve that should work well as its coming out of the very bottom.
I'm lucky as my case has a drain port at the bottom front of my case,phantom evolved x .

T splitter at the bottom of the case for me. Previously my drain site wasn't at lowest point and was a pain.

Even now at the true lowest point you always have water knocking about in the rad and res but it's a lot better and you drain a good portion of the loop out.
