Where do you think is the best place to look for good deals?

If you had say, 1500 quid to spend on a good motor, where would you be looking. And what would you be looking for.

I have a Civic for sale, its good on fuel and just in your price range ;)

Lol this whole buying a car thing has got my head totally boxed. I have the money available to me, but knowing what to buy and where best to look is proving to be a headache.

As long as my insurance is under 1400 for a first car fully comp, then ill pay it. Even considered a mondeo ghia x 2.0l if i knew where to find a good example

Im not 100% on anything to be honest.

The budget i have is basically £1500 (top end) for the car..

and as i was always expecting high insurance on first car, 100-130pcm would be an ok payment for me. So thats like 12-1500 or so insurance.

TPFT/Fully comp, i dunno what i would be best going for, the differences in price havent been huge in current quotes. But my priority is finding a comfortable 4/5 door car. With at least a 1.4 engine ideally.

So far Mondeos and Xsaras have seemed a good choice.

Taking the steps to buy are the daunting bit

TBH I don't think its worth going fully comp on a £1500 car.

Ok, im not even sure how insurance works haha.

My take on it is this...

Fully comp... i crash... i get the damage of my car reimbursed - excess...

tpft - i only get cash if its burned or stolen, if i crash, it only covers the other drivers (if involved), but i take the damage to car as loss in pocket?

is that right?
