Best Place To Get An Ultra Portable Laptop

Hi all

im lookin at investing in an ultra cheap ultra portable laptop. As in small screen, light weight. Will only be used to run web development software, so doesn't need anything lightening fast.

Need some ideas on brand & model, or if poss a place to get one

Na, IIRC Dell do some 13" models.

Doesn't quite fit the requirements.

Try the IBM Thinkpad R60e it weighs 1.4Kg and costs £525.

XP would fill that in no time, if only they put in a 2.5" hard disk

And a decent battery and operating system, 3 hours is nowhere near enough for a device of that size when a normal laptop lasts longer. And you'd have to buy another copy of windows to run on it.

My windows install is 3GB with all the needed updates, 1GB is not enough for design work.

I just bought a Dell Latitude D400 for £250.

It sounds ideal for what you want, perhaps look it up.
