Need four tyres for our '63 Kia Sportage. Incredibly it's the first tyre change since new (42,000 miles) and my past cars have been worth less than a single tyre so never bothered with decent ones before.

Halfords have quoted £251 for 2x Firestone 225/60R17 after its MOT (only two are advisory) as a comparison but otherwise we can go anywhere.

Thanks!

I've always found Camskill the cheapest place to buy tyres, and get them fitted at a local fitters. Usually a tenner a corner for fitting.

Blackcircles, mytyres, oponeo, lovetyres, tesco, asda etc... they CAN all work out cheaper occasionally. But most of the time, it is cheaper at camskill + local fitter. Smaller tyres usually see less of a price difference though, it's more when you go 18" plus the savings can be significant.

Also worth checking the local Costco. Sometimes they can be quite competitive. But your limited to Bridgestone, Goodyear or Michelin there. So you had better be wanting premium tyres anyway.

I got four Goodyear Eagle F1 AS3's from Halfords a couple of months back for £360odd, different size though at 225/40R18. It was the cheapest place I could find them at the time.

Always used, and never had any problems, with Black circles.

In your specific size you could have Michelen Primacy 3 or Continental Premium Contact 5's fitted for £260 and £240 respectively. Given those prices I would run a mile from the halfords quote as both the Michelen and the Conti will be better than the Firestones.

Depending on the brand then Camskill (usually unbeatable on Toyo’s), if it’s Michellin then Costco if you are/know someone who is a member.

I'd recommend tyreleader. Got 4 Goodyear efficient grip tyres that were A rated all across the board in my size at a good price. They are shipped from Germany (delivery is very quick). I couldn't find these cheaper anywhere else form the likes of Camskill, black circles and all the usual garages.

Think I'm going to with Blackcircles for price and ease, so thanks for that. Just to run it by you guys before clicking the button, 4x Michelin CrossClimate 225/60 R17 V (103) for £138.80, £555.20 total. Look good?

You'll get the same tyres for £498.76 off of tyre leader. Fast and free shipping. Mine came by DPD within a couple of days

Plus around £40 fitting, plus having to shift the tyres to the fitter yourself?

For me, that would be far more hassle than just paying £10 more to have them sent to a fitter, roll up have them installed and drive off.

depends if the guys price from blackcircles includes fitting or not, he doesnt say so i assume it didn't include fitting.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t even notice they could supply without fitting! Always just looked at the fitted prices personally.

I think I’ll need new rears either this year or early next, and there’s only £5 a tyre difference between Costco fully fitted and camskill etc, and blackcircles are only £5 above Costco price too

The + version is a better bet, the performance doesn't drop as they ware to the same degree.
