Hi there,

I'm interested in buying some beef jerky online as I'm fed up of paying £2 a pop in tesco. Sadly, it just seems that beef jerky is just really expensive.

I saw the thread on cooking it which I suppose is the cheapest way, but alternatively where is the best place to buy such a product, or anything else that is high protein and good for the lunch box?

Thanks!

It's just expensive. Uses the more expensive meat cuts and reduces in weight by roughly half. So 1kilo of meat will provide about 500grams of jerky. So you won't find it super cheap. However I'm sure someone will be along to save a few £

I love Biltong! My mums partner used to bring it from SA in the 90's and I loved it. I'm totally going to place an order :D
I have no idea why I never thought to search for this online before

There goes £60, shame they had no snap sticks though

Just ordered 3 packs snap sticks, original and peri peri. £56 inc delivery. I have made my own in the airing cupboard but this time I don't want to have meat hanging around in this heat. I think I can only get away with making my own in winter.

This thread is so magical!
I've been wondering where to get it for cheap for ages, although my friends would kill me if they found out I spent £50 on beef jerkey. :(

Is it worth it, is it? It's so tempting.

Whats the difference between biltong and jerky?

Biltong is thicker and marinated in different stuff.

I still haven't received my order from Biltongdirect. I think the postie must be a Biltong lover and nicked it, they have resent it so hopefully it will arrive on monday.
