Best place to pre order games without being charged.

Hello all,

Just a quick one, I'd like to pre order some games but I'd rather not pay anything until it's ready to be sent. I've looked on Game and they seem to want to charge me now for a game that won't be out until December, is there any company out there that will do what I would like??

Amazon don't charge until dispatch. They're not the most reliable if you want it on release date though.

Never once had a late game from amazon.

After another quick scout round it seems that a company called Base change once games been dispatched so that's another option I guess if memory serves me right wasn't Base formally known as Play?

Not used then for a while but try Shopto.net, or at least they didn't used to charge until dispatch. They also used to offer money back incentives if the game wasn't in your hands on release day. Be worth checking out.

Amazon, Thegamecollection or shopto are all great... Zavvi however is terrible.

My last Shopto preorder (29/9/16) came the day before release.

Never heard of shopto, had a look and shopto and amazon are very expensive compared to cdkeys

Nice one guys, I'll have a look at these, I guess the main reason why I don't want to pay outright is if the game starts to get bad reviews then I can just cancel it.

SHOPTO, SHOPTO, SHOPTO.

Brilliant company. Don't take money until the game is actually ready to go, good prices, always get games a day before release, as does my brother and they even send you a nice little picture of your packaged game ready to go.

Agreed, great service, great prices and they don't seem to be a huge company that doesn't give a toss about its customers. I would buy release titles from there.. if I bought release titles on release.

Their pre-order prices are usually decent too (TGC). I've used them over the past couple of years and they've never let me down yet.

Only issue I've had with The Game Collection is when I pre-ordered Fallout 4 I got a EU version that said on the back "Not for sale in the UK".

Worked fine but definitely would affect resale value if I was to trade it in I'd imagine.
