Hi all

Like many people, I have now 'gone digital' with my music and film collection and have a large stockpile of CDs and DVDs that I've ripped to FLAC / ISO. I want to sell the CDs for the most amount of money possible and would like to know what tactics people have used for selling CDs.

Am I likely to maximise the price by selling each CD individually on eBay, or by bulk selling to one of those CD resellers (at least I presume that's how they make money) like Music Magpie?

What did you do with your old CDs?

Many thanks.

stick them in a box and put them in the loft...you get bugger all back for them and you need them to keep your "ripped" collection legal...

You can try selling them in the Audio Visual section of the For Sale forums, you may not maximise your money but it is at least free and offers a certain amount of security in the sale normally.

Depending on what's on offer I may be interested in either CDs or DVDs.

I understand the reasons why Robbie has asked the question but IMO the amount of money you get back from selling is so small compared to the actual investment in the first place that you are actually better off just hanging on to your collection.

When you are getting pence back for each cd/dvd, its just not worth it.

I used Music Magpie, I got about £95 for a crate of CDs which has been untouched in the garage for over 6 years.

Tbh I was considering throwing them out anyway, so it was money for nothing really.
