As title really. Can anyone recommend any sites to sell retro games? My initial thought was ebay but you hear lots a horror stories so try to avoid if possible when selling anything of value. I would try my look in the member market but I imagine it would class as profiteering and don't want to get banned.

Any suggestions?

All my games work, some are pretty valuable. Canon Spike on the Dreamcast for instance. My worry is that I sell it on ebay and the buyer exchanges it with their scratched up version and then decide they want to return it. EBay alway sides with the buyer :(

Well I've got games like Cannon Spike and Marvel vs Capcom 2 amongst others in mint condition. CEX website says they will give me £188 for Cannon Spike alone but then sell it for £290!
I doubt member market rules would accept me trying to sell it for £250 on there. No idea what I paid for it now its been so long....maybe it was £250 ;) :p

You want the big money you run the eBay risk :)
You wanna bail and cash in? CEX

Probably worth mentioning that the 188 price is store voucher, not cash, ye can knock another 20 off if you want cash

stick em in MM for whatever CEX pays + post, you know they'll end up in a good home

CEX is £188 cash or £217 voucher.

Might play the ebay game with some of the cheaper games, Marvel vs Capcom 2, SF3 etc.

This isn't allowed on the MM is it? Wouldn't this be profiteering.

It would be be classed as profiteering I think. Sucks really. Imagine if ocuk followed the member market rules themselves, might be able to get a gpu for rrp then! :p

Did you recently buy them with the intention of flogging to make some money?

Or did you buy them moons ago and just got lucky with the prices?

I bought my DC and my games years ago when you could still buy DC games in stores. They've all been sat in a drawer for years now so most games in pristine condition :)

@SpudMaster
Just to clarify, you purchased these a while back and not like I said above at bootfairs/charity shops with the sole intent of profiting by reselling, you've bought well and managed to nab some of the rarer/more desirable titles when available :)

You are free to list these on MM at the going rate (probs best to base this on a combo of CEX price and eBay recent sold) without the fear of the profiteering rule.

Please do bear in mind the Other MM Rules with your listings:

We wont be allowing anyone to buy at charity shops/bootsales with a quick flip in mind and then resell on here at the cost of other members.
The pictures you've put above are superb and really show the condition of the item, we'd always suggest the best pictures possible to prevent any comebacks.

Thats good to know, thanks for the clarification :)

All my DC games where bought around 20 years ago from high street game stores and as I said in a previous post, they have been sat in a drawer for the best part of 15 years now.

Just a small update regard Cannon Spike. Put the game for sale in the members market a while ago but didn't get any interest. Decided to risk eBay and sold the game for £315. Didn't get scammed so happy days :)

Nice! It was a bit rich for my blood but I am glad you gave OcUK members a chance first. Shame no one was interested as it looked in fantastic nick and would have made a great collectors item!

I've since tried Cannon Spike and it seems like quite a good game, I need to get some practice in though, as I did not make it very far.

Yeah it's a fun game. It was a little sad to see it go but I'm not a collector. Just owned a Dreamcast since new. Probably going to sell the rest of my DC kit. Seems a shame to have it all sat in a drawer when evidently other people are keen for this stuff :)

Main points of interest imo are Marvel v Capcom 2, Capcom v SNK and both Street Fighter 3 games.

I've also go DC console with scart, controllers, mad catz light gun and a few vmu.

I'll put it on members market first when I get round to it before I take my chances with eBay
