Best player in each premiership team

Sorry I meant to say "squads", not first team obviously.

Out of the other central midfiedlers in the top 4 I'd rate him above Sissoko, Flamini, Fletcher, O'Shea, Mikel and Sidwell, so I've got no doubt that I'm not overating him.

yeah but simply having him in the squad means little really. whilst i get your point that you think he is worthy of being in any squad, he would be a peripheral figure - and would not really play. i don't think he is on par with mikel or flamini for that matter either.

Was interested to know yours Chong :).

King looks to be back on a good road to fitness (saw him in the reserves earlier in the week).

Earnshaw, not Miller?

Yeah, best news a Spurs fan will hear this season is King is back to full fitness. He's so crucial to our team... as it's so painfully obvious!! :(

Tbh I didn't really spend too much time trying to decide on Derby's best player lol ;)

Well, by that logic there's plenty of midfielders who could get into top4 squads. Since when has being better than Darren Fletcher been anything to write home about? :)

How do you compare a "flair" player like Ronaldo to a tough as nails player like Vidic (for example)

Of course as often as not the flair is going to be seen more often, but imo they are equally "the best" in their own position.

It's just a bit of fun. People have been doing it for years, as far back as 'Player of the season' awards have been going at least.

If someone thinks C.Ronaldo and Vidic are equally as good as each other then I doubt there would be many complaints if they chose them as a tie.

I've only skim re-read the thread, but I think Fabregas and Anelka are the only players to feature in every list. All aboard the Wenger bus!

Arsenal: Fabregas

This is based mostly on this season though (though not entirely). People who think Shorey is Reading's best player I think are influenced by his England call up. Defensively he's pretty rubbish and he has no right foot at all, that said he is still one of Reading's best players. Hunt is good as well but I always feel Kitson is a really classy player when I watch Reading.

For Tottenham it has to be Keane - he's always been reeeeally good and I don't think Berbatov wants to be at Tottenham this season (hence him being below par compared to last).

I think Young is a really good player who reminds me of Downing but with more pace (and right footed). Abby is great as well but I don't think he will improve as much as Young.

And it's probably stupid but I really think Petrov is a great no-nonsense player. I think he's more consistent than Elano and Micah Richards sometimes reminds me of Titus Bramble which is NEVER a good thing.

A lot of the teams I haven't really noticed this season though, Portsmouth and Fulham mainly. :p
