As above what do people recommend ideally a low carb / calorie
but something that will give me a protein boost.

Thanks in advance

Andy

From my googling the one that keeps coming up is MP Impact Whey.

Think i'll order some to give it a go.

Nutrisport 90+ also know as Winning Ways 90+, I think its a generic shake that gets rebadged and sold on. However it has one of the highest protein counts of any shake at 43G per serving. The best bit...it ranges from £15-£17.99 for 1KG. I pick up it up at a local store for £15. I like Vanilla the best, Ive just bought the raspberry which is a little too tarty for me. Dont get fooled by all of the marketing BS you see, protein is protein IMHO.

I really want to try Maximuscle orange flavour though, its supposed to be just like an orange jucie drink instead of the usual sickly sweet flavours available in all protein shakes. Maximuscle are a rip off though, Im scared I'll like it too much and double my protein bills :(

How on earth people can stomach chocolate shakes before/after working out is beyond me

...oh...I also buy creatine capsules from a well known high street health store. I have a shake before working out and a shake straigh after. In each of those shakes I open and pour 3 capsules of creatine in. I also add a capsule of glucosamine which really helps my joint pain. I dread to think what this drug smoothie does to me but Ive trialled this method properly 8 weeks on and 8 weeks off and it works well for me. Still works out cheaper than all of the "Anabolic energy power blah blah blah" shakes they reccomend alongside protein shakes.

43g from what size serving? 15 quid per kg! No thanks.

I thought that was good?

Amount Per Serving
Per 53g:
Calories: 199.2
Protein: 45.58g
Carbohydrates: 3.6g
Of which Sugars: 2.5g
Fats: 1.48g
Of Which Saturates: 1.48g
Fibre: 1.0g
Sodium: 0.047g

Get on Myprotein, in the price matcher enter "www.sports-nutrition.net", and buy the unflavored Impact Whey.

£28 for 4.5kg is a bargain really. And considering its unflavored, its not actually that bad. Considering you're necking it, it doesn't really matter anyway

Whack "MP68619" in there for 5% off to make it even more of a bargain

90% of the time, expensive whey is the same stuff just the brand makes it more expensive. Nothing wrong with MP Impact, it's good stuff and great value

If you want the best I'd recommend whey isolate from bulk powders/my protein, I do remember seeing 5kg of nutrisport 90+ on offer for £40+ delivery too (I assume that's 90% protein =/).

I'm using USN Muscle Fuel purchased from my gym, seeing some impressive gains using the stuff than what I was before just having good diet, mega expensive around £50 for 4Kg but im seeing the gains so its worth it IMO :)

I use ultra-triple filtered micronised amino injected whey.... £99 per kilo (using my code WTF717) and I'm now massiver than ever and can bench press a cow.

For all you mere mortals I'm sure the cheapest bulk buy wheys should be more than sufficient ;)

No please use code WTF1337 - you get better quality whey that time. It's actually 120% pure.

86% per serving, there are higher percentage ones out there.
the reason 43g sounds good is because of the serving size. most people do their own shakes with 30g scoops, so an 80% whey from a 30g scoop doesnt give anywhere near that of a 53g serving ;]

Im going to purchase Nutrisport 90+ next I think, seems reasonable value, it has casien in it also so hope I could benefit from the slower release that gets banged on about all over the place (morning and before bed). It seems like Biotest's Metabolic Drive except not so expensive lol!
