I agree with what most people say here about the Samsung being a great set however... The colours appear richer on the Sony (maybe down to settings), the Samsung had definite motion blur issues that the Sony didn't (I doubt any settings would have changed this & when considering PS3 & PC FPS's it's not ideal), also on the picture quality front the Samsung had a few "jagged edges" when looking at text on a HD feed.
Sound isn't an issue for me as I'm going to put it through a home cinema system but again the Sony is clearly better.
Had I not had the benefit of seeing the 2 side by side I would be placing an order for the Samsung as it is very good & the price suits however the Sony is comparable to a CRT. It's just that good.
So decision made it's a Sony KDL32V2500 for me (even though I prefer the look of the Samsung). I appreciate picture quality is a personal preference but what I've just seen & the definite 1:1 pixel mapping for my PC input make it a no brainer. Just got to convince the missus that £1k plus for a 32" LCD is worth it.
Thank you all for your help.

Edit: LGs are well known for their PC support and 1:1 mapping via VGA and HDMI as well. They accepts 1360/1366 *768 1:1 mapped via a DVI -> HDMI adapter. Worth a look at least![]()

Went to order the KDL32V2500 in a retail outlet accompanied by the other half as she needed to see the set before she would commit. So in we go & I head towards the set with my rehearsed sales pitch only to be stopped by "this is nice". I turn round and she's stopped at the KDL40X2000, My eyes light up but I thought "It's nice until you know the price".
Anyway based on the fact that the X Series is silver with the glass surround (it is a stunning piece of kit) she announced it was the only one she was prepared to have in the house & I could have it as an early birthday present. Result or what!??! So the catch... I'm not allowed to open the box until I have a PS3.
Can't wait for March 23 now. RFOM in 1080p here I come!!!

Panasonic 32" LCD's are not 1080i/p screens...They would down scale a 1080i signal to the screens 720p res...ElRazur said:Panasonic Viera....You cant go wrong. Will do 1080i...![]()
Sharp 42xd1e or 37xd1e just avoid the larger screens as they have a lot banding issues at the moment.
All models do DVI and VGA 1:1 mapping, it's what the LGs are known forAndy298 said:Brother in law has an LG. 37" but not sure what model it is? I know he has his PC connected with DVI to HDMI cable and that does 1:1 pixel mapping.
