It isn't really that simple with PSUs - even nominally "A" tier brands who mostly make their own can have some models made by other companies which are trash, etc. and you get stuff like Gigabyte who make some terrible PSUs and also some very good ones :s
Generally I've found Seasonic the most reliable over the years, anything which uses FSP as the OEM is usually a pretty solid unit though the brand's warranty might be another matter. Personally I steer clear of Asus - even when they use a top tier OEM for the internals they seem to cheap out somewhere.
I had to buy a PSU once in an emergency, before the days of Amazon, etc. long bank holiday weekend IIRC and almost everywhere was closed and all that was available locally was a Qtec Gold... the system I had it in never ran right after - fortunately wasn't my main system.
Don’t go for brand, go for a specific model of PSU (or any hardware type) as every brand makes both good and bad products, just as Rroff said.
Known brands like Seasonic and Corsair tend to make more good than bad products but that’s a rule of thumb and you should always go for specific good models.
