Best PSU for my needs?

I'm considering buying this PSU for a system containing an overclocked i5-2500K (~4.2Ghz) and 2GB MSI Radeon HD 6950 Twin Frozr III. CrossFire will never be used and there's nothing particularly special about the system: two or three hard drives, a sound card, 8GB RAM (2 x 4GB) and a few USB peripherals.

Would anyone recommend the modular version of this PSU or even a different one altogether? I want to make sure I'm not spending more than I need to but at the same time don't want to be skimping on the item.

That PSU is fine, I wouldn't bother getting the modular version, unless you are fussy about cable management inside your case, or worried about unused cables obstructing airflow either.

That's a very good psu and would be more than enough for your needs. If it was me though i would be buying this instead as it's cheaper and modular. It is a excellent psu and that's a good price.

Stick with the TX, unless the non-modular cabling is causing space issues.

+ Has the HX 750. Both are brill' PSU's.

Okay I am new here but I think the Antec has a 5 year warranty

PSU's are one of the most common parts to go on the Fritz (plus memory and motherboards)

Modular means you can omit bits of cable you don't need that otherwise sift dust from your air intake

Plus if you want to swap the unit out - unplug and take it out with all your cables left in place like a Pro (see pic below)

I suggest you run to Overclockers right now and buy the Antec first thing in the morning :D;)

Installed one of the antec new true powers this evening, (750w model). very nice peice of kit. Very good cable braiding, nice length of cables, (x4 pcie which was a must have for me), and its a pretty quiet unit.

Ok ok I'm sold, Antec bought :D

It isn't for my machine, it is for another one ;)
