Based on this play safe with a Tagan.

I've read that the Tagans should be avoided - shame cos the 480w model they had has excellant beast.

Another Seasonic here . . but just bear in mind that they aren't modular and can be a little untidy. The newer models have sleeves.

I like the look of the Enermax liberty range.

review

Bit pricey but should last a long time. Will be swapping may flaket Hiper R for this in the near future

ive read a lot of reviews on this matter and i still need advice. I wanted a tagan, but, after reading about the 12v rails only giving 11.9 volts, and the fact that if you are overclocking an sli system, then tagan should be avoided. Will seasonic work? Will i be a happy bunny? Help :)

Seasonic S12 600W Silent ATX2.0 Power Supply (CA-002-SS)

Another recomendation here - bagged one while they were on "This week only" a few months back! Bargain!

Are they good. I bought a hiper R and my comp was freaking out.It would not boot, got bsod, usb mouse died, everything.Put my old, cheap 550 watts in, and my pc is running just fine again. I want to overclock so i want a better power unit which is very stable. :) Im even more confused now :( I have edited this post to mention hat i want really TIDY cables. I am a tidy cable freak, any advice ?

Id love the seasonic, and i may get one, its just that i really wanted to go down the modular path.I can only pick one of three, they are tagan, enermax or seasonic. At least ive got it down to a choice of three.:) please bare in mind that i need a new psu in the next day or so, my pc is dying.

I set up my pc with just my Tagan 580W running - 0 fans, it was very quiet indeed, I previously used a Tagan 480W for nearly 2 years & previous to that Enermax & Antec, all these were good for me.

Whatever make you choose, you will always have a % chance of aquiring one which will go wrong in its life span no matter what make it is - all PSU's usually come with at least 3 years warranty.

I might try Seasonic on my next upgrade just to be different, all the main manufactuers Enermax, Seasonic, Tagan, Ocz etc etc produce decent PSU's - pick any manufacturer from those is what I would do.

I'm not telling you to get a Tagan, just pointing out that a few people have issues with Seasonics.
I think Tagan got a bit of a bad name with the ticking PSU problem that plagued a few people, but OCZ (who's PSU's are made by the same company Topower) had it as well.

It's only when you've had a PSU that displays the no boot problem will you realise what a pain it is. (My OCZ on a Neo2 did it)

i have the Hiper R which i love, i was suprised to find it was a little bigger than my previous PSU's which made it a lot more awkward to get it, Friend of mine had the same PSU that he bought about a month after mine and it died last week quite horribly. :(

Omg, this is harder than i think.First i thought tagan, then enermax, then seasonic. I know seasonic is a great make and all, but im thinking of the modular side of it.Enermax liberty is looking good. What does everyone think.Oh, and thanks guys, really. No way would i ever even consider getting a new psu with all this good advise.I know that getting different idea's off people is making me crazy, but this psu choosing really is a team effort, many thx.
