Best "Push pin" CPU cooler???

Scared to death of push pin type myself - visions of broken/bent board; flying bits of snapped off board/ccoler/cpu ; uneven pressures and thereby temps

So prefer
the other type

If I were buying would go for either Tuniq Tower ( using one currently ) or a 'True' - Although the prices for these are , nowadays, horrendous

Upon reflection - I agree with Rroff's choice . A good cooler at a reasonable price

I get good milage out of a ACF7 pro - but only after lapping it and keeping the fan spun up fairly fast - at which its a good as or maybe even slightly better than a "stock" TT/True.

Yep, there's no way i'm paying £50-£60 for a cooler. They are not worth it.

Around £30 is my limit!

:)

Go for the Akasa AK-965. Cheaper and better than the Freezer Pro.

Seconded, I've had both. Not only is it cheaper, it's just better at cooling generally (5C difference under load at what I can only subjectively describe as a similar noise level, both using arctic ceramique), for all it matters the AK-965 cools more evenly, there was often a 3-4C delta between cores with my AF7 on my E2140, it's usually between 0 and 1 with the AK-965. The build quality also seems to be a bit better on the AK-965, which I think's important as my AF7 practically fell apart, pins started splaying, parts of the fan broke, etc. after about half a year of maintenance and upgrades (hence the reason I've had both).

For £30 I think there's better to be had though.
