Just installed a Corsair H80i but the fans it comes with sound like an aircraft taking off while in pain, so need something a lot quieter as my PC is in my living room.

Any recommendations?

cant really speak about noctua personally as i have limited experience with them but they have the rep they do for a reason.

If not there's always ek vardars, a slightly less expensive option that perform very well, have 4 of them on my 2 AIO rads

I'd check my fan profile before I do anything else. Yes they are not the quietest but then again if they are always running at full speed...

From what I've seen and read, the Noctua Industrial are the best relatively quite, with the best static pressure, but you do pay for what you get. The SP120L on the Corsair at 37.5db at full speed with very good static pressure is a really good compromise.
Remember that radiators are all about static pressure, just try throttling them back a bit, so they are not running at full speed all the time.

Cheers guys, I actually had the chance to try some Noctua NF-F12 and some SP120's that a friend had when he stripped his WC'd rig down yesterday and I've ended up buying 2x SP120 quiet editions based on the results I got.

Excellent choice, you won't regret it.

It's a shame that Corsair don't supply decent fans with their watercoolers in the first place!

I've just had to replace both of mine on my H80i because of a constant ticking which has materialised over time,

not to mention the appalling sound that they make when they actually ramp up to anything over 1000-1100 rpm.

I've found the Silverstone SST-FQ121 fans are not only considerably quieter they actually do a better job cooling.

The added bonus is they're on offer for £5.99 at the moment - link :D
