Best rallying game?

I prefered SR-Revo over D1RT (seems bad port and ran bad for me), that aside I still like SR-Revo better for other reasons.

The above Richard Burns Rally is a very real Sim and very hard its not same as SR-Revo or D1RT.

I've picked up DiRT today, haven't installed it yet though. What's it like? Is it more of a sim or more arcade?

i got DiRT with my 8800gt, and its pretty awesome, im just about to buy a ps2 controller converter so i can get my wheel going :P should be even better

Depends on your definition of best. If realism is your thing then nothing beats Richard Burns Rally. DiRt and Sega Rally are 2 new rally titles which more arcade feel, however, I haven't played any of them so can't comment. Still I'm sure there are demos out there for them.

Dirt is fun. But the handling is so off its not funny. Its so simplified it is only worth playing for the graphics.

RBR is cool, but I still think Colin Mcrae Rally 1 is the best.

Dirt puts Starforce on your PC...

RBR is good but the real classic is the 1999 Rally Championship from Magnetic Fields, recently re-released and updated for XP on Revival (?) label. Some of those courses are over 20 miles in length and yes, much of the graphics are done via rendered backdrops but so long as I have a PC capable of playing it, will always be the top rally game for me.
