Hey all, before i buy my new stuff, i want to know the best ram i should get for my system is

Asrock Dual VSTA 775, supports dual channel ddr2
Core 2 Duo Conroe E6600

The mobo supports DDRI and DDRII, so i think for a while (untill i can afford it) i will use my current ram, PC3200 gig.

Im looking to get 2gig, and my budget is around £170..

Thanks for any help :)

Do you intend to overclock the CPU/FSB?

If not then DDR II PC5300 will do for FSB of 266 which is default for Core 2 chips.
If you do want to overclock then DDRII PC6400 will allow a FSB of 400 Mhz, if the mobo will reach 400FSB.

So it depends if you want to run at default clocks or not.

Actually PC4200 is 266 / 533 DDR, PC5300 is 333 / 667 DDR. Confusing but hey, not my system :p

Though with the prices as they are, even if you aren't overclocking might as well get PC5300 (or whatever is highest your board safely supports and is a similar price) anyway and just downclock it to sync :)
