EDIT - misread the total memory your MB can take...

Double checking revisions - what revision is yours?

Firstly make sure you have a 64bit operating system.

If you have a 32 bit operating system then there's no point in having more than 4GB as you won't be able to use it.

Secondly have you overclocked your processor?

If you have then filling all 4 memory slots (which you need to for 8GB) will likely affect the overclock.

You may have to change the settings for the overclock and you might not achieve the same overclock as before.

As above - but i would add if it's just for general gaming/light apps use, i would only get the 4GB set i linked to as anything over is wasted unless your usage requires more(?)..

When i mentioned your board can take 8GB - i meant that as a statement of fact so you know the max amount your MB can take for future reference - not for you to get 2 sets.

Thanks a lot for your help guys ive gone with the XMS3, dont need to go any faster and more expensive than that thinking about it as i dont do anything that requires it,

just for future reference does my mobo take all DDR3 Dual channel?

thanks again

It will take up to 8gb of DDR3 memory in Dual channel mode - i.e. 4 x 2gb modules.

I would stick to 1600MHz sticks - and only 4gb (2 x 2gb for dual channel) if you fit the criteria already mentioned in previous posts.
