Best recent arcade racer

I have recently been playing Xpand Rally and its a great game. Sort of inbetween sim and arcade in that the rally mode lets you buy cars and parts and is still in a good arcade racer style and is hard bt not stupidly hard like a sim.

What other games are like this? I have tried CM dirt and Sega rally revo and they seemed pretty crap. Something about the movement of the cars seemed wrong

There have not been any good racers for a while really. I liked dirt, but Sega rally was awful.

Depends how you define 'recent' I guess.
I thought Test Drive Unlimited and FlatOut 2 were both very good (although the former is a bit buggy).

If you're after something from the last six months or so, I've completed both NFS

S and Juiced2. The former is a bit of a grower (doesn't seem as good as most NFS games at first, but gets better) and the latter is your standard arcade racing fare where you just go through the motions - the handling is a lot less frustrating than the original Juiced at least.

flat out 2 is a good racing game and so is test drive unlimited (free roam too) though the later is more realistic in the terms of cars.

Place I preordered from said end of May but gawd knows when it'll actually be out as I can't find a definitive release date.
