What registry Editor do people use? Is there a good free one? I am about to installed one of the Seagate Momentus XT 500GB Hybrid SATA-II 2 HD, do I just copy all my files from my C disk to the new disc, then make the momentus the C drive? If I do a new install I have to go through the process of adding all my software again. But I thought a good regedit would clean up my drive first. Any help would be appriciated. Using win7

Free trial of Acronis does not allow you to clone disk! If I Just copy "C" to new drive then change the drive letters around will this work?

Im afraid it's not that simple. You need to clone your HDD using software. If your not having any luck with Acronis then try Clonezilla or Easeus Todo Backup which are both free.

Try out these free registry editors, Resplendence Registry Manager and Registrar Registry Manager. I have used the registrar registry manger and never got an issue or look for an alternative. These are one of the good and tested editors.

The trail version of Acronis does clone discs.
I use it a lot

Drop down the tools menu then select clone disc

Registry does not need cleaning!

Either just reinstall everything, or clone the harddrive!

The only time you need to go into the registry is to fix things, and then you can use regedit.
But only with specific instructions!!!
