Hi guys,

My trusty G700 is dying (click and hold issues). I love this mouse and so the obvious replacement would be a G700s, but it seems the click and hold issues are more common on this version, plus it's basically a side grade despite being 4 years newer.

So could anyone recommend a mouse that's comparable or better than the G700:

Wireless
Easily programmable buttons/sensitivity
Free scroll
Understated design
Ergonomic
Reasonably priced (flexible but ideally around £50)

Or should I just get a G700s?

Thanks,

I bought a G700S the other day and it's great.

Comfortable, wireless, frees scroll etc.

Also, there are rumours of a G900 in the works...

What are the click and hold issues you speak of?

Another day, another D2FC-F-7N malfunctions. They are so so so so so so so easy to fix. Most of the time it's just a little metal plate inside getting bent and a replacement costs about £1.

Requires a small crosshead and a thin flathead.

When clicking the left button it will sometimes register as a double click, and when holding it down it will sometimes unregister. It's intermittent but has gotten a lot worse very quickly, and none of the recommended fixes work.

Reading the Logitech forums it seems more common with the G700s, but hard to tell.

I'll have a look at taking it apart, but can't really go without it so may just buy this as a spare anyway. I'd heard mention of capacitors being the culprit so had figured it wasn't repairable (or not easily anyway).

Also do you have any links for the G900? I cant find anything on it.

Every mouse that uses the Omron D2FC-F-7N switch has issues with double clicking or not clicking after a few years etc. My Steelseries sensei lost all clicking resistance for LMB. It's not that they are bad, they are just very commonly used which makes them super cheap.

I can give you a detailed guide on how to fix it if you want.

Thanks for the offer but I've found a couple of YouTube tutorials which seem to outline what your saying.

Thanks guys.
