As per the title, I'm looking for a decent USB pen. I've had a number of fast ones and high capacity ones, but the build quality for lots seems to be terrible.

Thus I'm wondering if people had any decent recommendations for a robust USB pen that can go on my keyring. USB3 preferred but will take anything. Capacity has to be 16gb+ and the price preferably (but not set in stone) under £40.

Thanks!

I have a metal one that OcUK sent me free for messing up an order once. It's by Kingston and has been washed before too and still works:

Tough buggers those are and small enough to not be a hassle on keys.

The Kingston DataTraveler SE9 is very robust but only comes in USB2.0. The main thing I like about it is the solid anchor point for the keychain and the all metal case. Feels sturdy as hell! Transfer speeds aren't the best tbh but the price reflects this

Yup the anchor won't break, ever. I have a 32GB Kingston USB 3 one too on my other key set and that's more than twice the size and all plastic. It's faster and larger but you sacrifice convenience and build quality.

They're spring gate-clips, the black ones are actually SureFire ones that came with Surefire torches, the silver one is made by a company in the US called Maratac it's made from solid stainless steel and was waterjet-cut from a solid sheet, it's ridiculously strong. You can get those here;

Also some made by a guy in Hawaii called McGizmo which should be just as good;

Cheers mate!

I have put my SE9 through the wash 4 or 5 times and it still works perfectly.
Small enough to not be a nuisance on a keyring which is nice too.

i use fujifilm rubber usb drives.... they are pretty good and my usb sticks get a beating.. they are on my work keys (aboout 30 keys) in my pockets all day.. get dropped, wet etc dailey.. not had fail me in 2 years (they'll both fail tomorrow now i've said that).

Bit of a necro post here but a lot of the reviews for the SE9 complain about the speed. I like the look of the anchor ring but don't like the reviews of the speed. Any other alternatives?

Speed is not everything though. Reliability is very important as i have seen quite a few get corrupted and continually ask to format!
