In the next few days, I will have delivered 152mbit to my house. I have a VM account set up at my neighbours house and I am using a pair of Ubiquiti Nanobeams to send it to a pole 500metres away. From that pole, the connection will run down a 55m cat5e(maybe cat6) ethernet to my house where it will go into a modem etc.

I'm looking to spend up to about £100 for a decent router, strong wireless, and if there is such a think, good at receving from 55m of ethernet.

Cheers.

Been looking at the Asus RT-N66U - 900Mbps Dual Band Wireless N Router, anything better for the same price or a bit more?

Are you the chap who had pictures of where this route is going, through a big gap in the hedge?

If so, please keep us informed on how it goes :)

RT-N66U is a fine router, update it to the latest version. -Same goes for the nanostations, update them before setting them up.

Haha yeh that's me. I've just updated the thread on here so should be near the top ">500m wireless options". Cheers for the advice. I got everything crossed for a <50ms ping.
