Me and a few flat mates are off to a high street retailer, and are looking for a wireless router to share between 6. Whats the best one to get or are they all the same? budget up to £80

I would recommend a Belkin Router

Ours is a Belkin Wireless ADSL Router

Capable of having 4 wired PC and as many Wireless PC's as you want, in your case, would be 2 :)

It cost me £80 with free Wireless adaptor last April, seen it for like £60 now, but the design has also changed since then

Have fun

Speedtouch 585v6. Excellent little thing. The Belkin is also very good (F5D7633UK4a), but wireless range is slightly lower than other routers.

hmm yeah. So can you get wireless routers with wireconnections as well then?

Most Wireless Routers have an integrated switch as well

Though the Drayteks are expensive they are reliable (I can't even remember having to reset mine because of a lock-up for the past 2 1/2 years)

For £80 The netgears seem to be OK, Never used the Speedtouch but it seems to be quite good as well

surely it de[pends what u want to do with it....

for distance you maybe want a rangemax router, personally I love my Linksys WRT54G v2 coz I can load 3rd party firmware on to it.... If you wantyed something like this I think u'd need to ebay as the later models dont use Linux as the base.

That's why the WRT54GL exists.

But a WRT54GL is useless on its own with ADSL, and an ADSL router is useless with cable, and the OP hasn't said which their planning on using...

Looking into getting a new one, have Netgear DG814 but would like wireless capability later on. Netgear DG834G any good?

I would like a router with firewall, plus warning/details/logging of any attacks
