I currently have the Sharkoon Fireglider which is IMO one of the best feeling nice on the market.

I'm looking for something similar, must have rubberized finish and be slightly heavy - just need it to have a few extra mouse buttons so I can quickly do things in FPS games eg throw grenade

I also need a slightly longer USB cable 2-3m so does having a USB extension affect lag of mouse input in anyway?

Steelseries Rival, I've got one and it has some nice rubber areas and more than enough buttons for fps.

Expensive - Logitech G700S or 2nd hand G700
Cheaper - Coolermaster Storm Inferno
Consider - Roccat Kone or Kova

Nice grippy/rubebry bits and loads of buttons!!
The Kova is quite low profile, but feels surprisingly great.

G700 NOT S looks perfect but it looks like it'll feel cheap and plasticky, is there a rubber version of it?

Mine certainly feels pretty darn solid!!
Heavy, but not overly so.

Not sure about the non-S, but the S has a texture that grips exceptionally well... IMO better than actual rubberised mice.

I can get a refurbished g700 for 32 and a new g700s w/ 3 year square trade warranty for 60 . is the g700s really worth double the price?

If it comes with a 3-year warranty, then I'd say yes.
Logitech have a fairly good rep for warranty and RMA type things.

I do actually prefer the 700S over the 700 (having now tried both) as, despite them being essentially the same mouse, there are lots of little tweaks and adjustments on the S that do make the difference, even if you don't notice them.

Also, £60 new is a good price, given that they were £95 when they came out!
